.. _ref_cantilever_beam: Cantilever beam =============== This example demonstrates a static structural analysis of a cantilever beam using PyMechanical-MCP. The geometry is a 200 millimeter x 20 millimeter x 10 millimeter rectangular beam. Engineering objective --------------------- Determine the maximum deformation and equivalent stress distribution in a cantilever beam clamped at one end and loaded at the free end with a transverse pressure. Confirm that the maximum deformation occurs at the free end and stress concentrates at the fixed support. Assign structural steel as the material using `run_python_script`. 4. Generate a 5-millimeter element size mesh using `run_python_script`. 5. Apply a fixed support at the clamped face using `run_python_script`. 6. Apply a 1,000,000-Pascal pressure on the top face using `run_python_script`. 7. Run the solver using `solve_analysis`. 8. Add total deformation and equivalent stress results using `run_python_script`. 9. Capture a screenshot of the equivalent stress contour using `screenshot`.
